Good Morning!

More and more projects seem to have vaulted rooms with apex windows and they provide a challenge in terms of window dressing. This morning I'm sharing a couple of photos of the Primary Bedroom from Project MF, a vaulted room with huge windows overlooking the garden.

Dressing unusual shaped windows can always create a bit of a headache but our clients brief was that they wanted privacy glass and the curtains were primarily to dress the window.

In similar situations we have also used specialist apex blinds that drop down at an angle to block out the light alongside dress curtains to soften the look.

We did a his and a hers en-suite, the ultimate luxury to have your own space don’t you think? This is ‘his’ featuring a basket weave floor, deep cobalt walls, a generous shower and a bespoke fluted vanity. Would you like to see ‘hers’ next?

Hope you have a great week - it’s a busy one for us as we continue designing for some big projects and procuring pieces for others, plus we are squeezing in a visit to Decorex too. Will share what we see when there later in the week.

I had a wonderful couple of days in London earlier in the week visiting the Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour. I caught up with lots of suppliers and saw their new collections, heard some really interesting talks and enjoyed spending time catching up with industry friends.

I managed to source some wonderful fabrics, lighting and furniture for some current projects, some of which appear on this reel.

The rest of the week has been pretty full on too, with a lot of design work on new projects plus site visits and procurement. It’s time to turn off the laptop and relax for the weekend. Happy Friday everyone! 🥂Gx

Lots going on at our Chaddesley project yesterday which is always great to see.

I anticipated a quick visit but with bedroom joinery installation, worktop fitting for the utility, a delivery of 20+ pieces of upholstery, electricians fitting lights and most importantly a check-in with the four-legged resident of the house (and some obligatory fuss) I was there a while.

Outside work continues on the pool changing room and the outdoor kitchen area. I’ll show more of those on another visit.

Hope you have had a good week. It’s been a varied one here with a mix of days in the studio, at client meetings and on site. We have a lot of joinery we’ve designed being fitted at projects right now, plus we are busy working on some designs for upcoming projects.

I’ve got a site visit planned today as well as finishing off our entry into this year’s awards with a new project that recently completed, and then I’m ready for a relaxing weekend seeing friends, plus a no doubt stressful Sunday evening watching the Euro finals. Here’s hoping we have something to celebrate. 🤞

The Snug at our Staffordshire project has such a lovely feel. A warm, rich wall colour, a squidgy sofa, an ottoman to put your feet up on - it’s cosy comfort all the way. We even added a drinks fridge within the joinery so you can grab a drink during your favourite film or watching the match.

A quick reel from yesterday of one of my favourite rooms in our Staffordshire project, the dressing room.

This is such a great space with so much storage and a central island which functions as a dressing table on one side and a chest of drawers on the other.

We also included glazed cupboards for handbags and shoes with a pretty pink textural wallcovering to the back which creates a lovely backdrop.

I’ve also added my favourite gin cocktail recipe below, for a Negroni, in case you want to celebrate too. 🥃

Mix:
1 part Gin, whichever is your favourite
1 part sweet Vermouth
1 part Campari

Stir and serve over ice, garnish with a curl of orange rind and I love to add a sprig of rosemary.

Lots of progress (swipe 👈) this week at one of our favourites, a beautiful Georgian property with the most gorgeous garden which is getting better and better with the addition of a pool and outdoor kitchen. It’s going to make the most fabulous outdoor entertaining space. 🏊‍♂️🥂☀️🍹

Lots of flooring has been going down this week - beautiful Buscot limestone @artisansofdevizes and Fendi engine wood @havwoods and next week the beautiful pink and white marble goes down in the cloakroom too.

Keep an eye out for the joinery install - we’ve designed lots of beautiful and practical storage for this project which is starting to go in next week - a beautiful dressing room is coming first. 😍
